Experience the wonderful Åkrafjord on a Fjord sightseeing with MS "Stein Viking". This is how you get the best view towards the huge number of attractions offered by the Åkrafjord. There couldn't be bigger contrasts between farms without road connections, naked rock walls and fertile cultured landscapes, discoveries from the Stone Age and small power stations.
The highlight of this sightseeing is the view towards the Langfoss waterfall. Langfoss has an impressive drop height of 612 metres; CNN Travel rated Langfoss as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
The Fjord cruise takes place every Sunday in July and August – provided that at least 10 people have signed up for it. Purchase orders and payments are made through our website, and must be completed by 17.00 the day before (we refer to our General Terms and Conditions for further information).
To be able to take part in the cruise, you will need to appear at Åkrafjordtunet at 11.45 am. Parking space is available at Åkrafjordtunet. Please, register yourself as being present, in the tourist information at Åkrafjordtunet. Out local guide will welcome you and go together with you to Teigland terminal where you will board MS "Stein Viking".
The Fjord cruise lasts for approximately 3 hours, and follows a set route. We start with the departure from Teigland at 12.00 am, and continue along the northern side of the Fjord towards Langfoss. We will make a short stop at Langfoss terminal to give you the opportunity to get off for a moment to take photos and visit the kiosk. The trip continues towards the inner Fjord until we reach Fjæra at the very end of the Fjord. Here we will leave the boat for a little while and stroll through the village, visit some of the highlights there, like Fjæra church and the new facilities of Marine Harvest to breed fingerlings. When we leave Fjæra, the tour leads us past Mosnes lighthouse back to Langfoss. The last leg runs along the southern side of the Fjord, and you will get an impression of the art of engineering in connection with the construction of the old Åkrafjord road during WW II. We will be back at Teigland at approximately 15.00.
